Built-in Ironing Boards

Return to Index

A built-in ironing board is a space-saving solution, installed in a wall cabinet or drawer, that folds out for use and folds away neatly for storage, often featuring ventilated surfaces, heat-resistant covers, and sometimes integrated electrical outlets, timers, and hot iron storage, providing a stable, dedicated ironing station without taking up floor space.

Key Characteristics & Features:

Concealed Design: Hides within a wall cavity or a cabinet, appearing as a finished door or drawer front when closed.

Fold-Out Mechanism: The board pivots or slides out and locks into position, supported by a telescoping leg for stability.

Surface: Usually a ventilated metal board with a padded, heat-reflective, and scorch-resistant cover (cotton/foam) for efficient steaming and ironing.

Electrical Options: Many models include a dedicated, safety-switched electrical outlet and spotlight, allowing the iron to stay plugged in.

Storage: Often includes a hot iron rest and storage area for the iron and cord, keeping everything contained.

Installation: Can be recessed into a wall or installed inside a deep drawer, fitting into standard cabinet depths.
