Altoids Sours

Return to Index

Altoids Sours were popular, intensely sour, fruit-flavored hard candies (mango, tangerine, lime, raspberry, apple) sold in iconic tins, discontinued by Mars in 2010 due to low sales, but have since made a nostalgic comeback as "Retro Sours" by Iconic Candy, using similar recipes and tins, available at specialty retailers like It'SUGAR and Cracker Barrel.

What They Were:

Description: Flower-shaped, intensely sour, chewy/hard candies with a sugary coating, known for their "hurts so good" pucker.

Flavors: Mango, Tangerine, Lime, Raspberry, and Apple.

Packaging: Came in the classic Altoids metal tin, making them popular for kids and collectors.

Launch & Discontinuation: Introduced around 2001-2004 and discontinued in 2010 by Mars due to low demand.
