Pop-Tarts Pastry Swirls

Return to Index

Pop-Tarts Pastry Swirls were a discontinued line from the mid-1990s to 2001, described as larger, thicker versions of standard Pop-Tarts with less icing, designed to compete with Toaster Strudels, featuring flavors like Cinnamon Cream and Cherry Cheese Danish. They featured a swirled pastry, often with a creamy or fruity filling, but low sales led to their discontinuation around 2001, though fans still remember flavors like Apple Cinnamon.

Key Characteristics:

Shape & Texture: Bigger and thicker than regular Pop-Tarts, with a distinctive swirl pattern.

Filling: Included fruit fillings (like strawberry, cherry) and cream cheese or cinnamon cream fillings.

Icing: Generally had less frosting than traditional Pop-Tarts.

Flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Strawberry, Cinnamon Cream, Cheese Danish, Cherry Cheese Danish.

Why They Were Discontinued: Despite their unique take on the toaster pastry, they didn't capture the same market share as classic Pop-Tarts or rival products, leading to their removal from shelves by 2001.
