Reese's Bites

Return to Index

Reese's Bites were small, spherical candies with a peanut butter filling coated in chocolate, similar to mini peanut butter cups but as bites, and were discontinued around 2008 due to choking hazard concerns from parents, despite being popular, with successors like Reese's Swoops (also discontinued) and current Reese's Minis filling the bite-sized niche.

Description of Reese's Bites:

Shape & Texture: Perfectly round balls of classic Reese's peanut butter filling.

Coating: Dipped in chocolate.

Concept: A bite-sized, ball-shaped version of the iconic peanut butter cup.

Why They Were Discontinued:

Choking Hazard: The primary reason cited for their removal was concerns that the small, smooth, round candies posed a choking risk, especially for children.

Product Line Removal: The entire "Bites" line from Hershey's was phased out around 2008 due to these safety concerns.
